Wednesday 5th July

For ages of ten and over, children will be given almost three hours from 5.15pm to 8.00pm at the library where unlimited time on computers, gaming, craft and pizza will be provided. This is a great opportunity for those who may not have a computer at home or are sharing with older siblings. Get your friends together and head to the library for of night of fun.

Thursday 6th July

Young people from ages 10 to 18 years will be getting an opportunity to experiment with cutting edge and local technology company ImmersePort. ImmersePort, based in Ipswich is a software development studio and one of the leaders in Queensland in the Virtual Reality Industry. Students will learn the basics of how to create a virtual reality world using Unity 3D software and entering it using HTC Vive Virtual Reality hardware. This event is for two hours from 10am to 12 Noon and sounds like a very informative and interesting activity. Openings are still available.

Friday 7th July

Toddlers and pre-schoolers can join in a fun and interactive session learning the basics of the chess piece movement. The session will be focused on stories, songs and movements so each child can learn chess in his or her own way. Chess is something I have always wanted to learn and I'm sure if you tackle it at an early age, the grasp of the game's intricacies would be easier to capture. There are three sessions starting from 10.30am.

The Hyperdome Library is situated at 66-70 Mandew Street, Shailer Park and is wheelchair accessible with disabled parking. A lift is also available for those requiring its use. Bookings for all events are essential and cancellation must be made 24 hours before the day of the event. You can register on line as each event has a registration box under its description or you can ring the library on 07 3412 4120.
