Free learning and boredom-busting activities are offered for the kids at the State Library of Queensland from Saturday 14 until 29 September 2024 in time for the Queensland Spring school holidays.

Of course, the State Library is the premiere location for books, archival and reference but as modern libraries grow and expand as community hubs, it is so much more. From art to stories and dance, the September School Holiday Program offers something for every young and curious mind to learn and play and maybe make some new friends along the way.

The program includes:
Make Your Mark
Portrait Play
Scavenger Hunt
Reading Room
You Draw Me
Animated AR Masks

Many are drop-in activities so they are good for planned or last-minute excursion ideas during the school break.

One of the Library's signature events in the school holiday schedule is on Saturday 28 September 2024 when the GATHAA First Nations Markets family fun day will be held as a cultural celebration. GATTHAA means welcome place. The markets will feature unique and handcrafted goods, live performances, bushfood yarns, and immersive arts workshops.

What Else
Activities run from 10 am to 3 pm daily. Be sure to check the Program for specific times for each event. The State Library of Queensland is located at the Cultural Precinct, Stanley Place, South Brisbane QLD. and is the main reference and research library of the State.
