What is the 'Festival of Colours'?
The images of people dancing and celebrating as they throw coloured powder is a spectacular sight to see, but what is its significance? In parts of India, the festival is celebrated for 16 days in commemoration of the divine love of Radha for Krishna, a Hindu deity. Throughout the world it is celebrated as a
festival of love and the festive day to rid oneself of past errors and conflicts, a day to forgive and forget.
It really is a celebration that brings people of all backgrounds together, a day where family and friends can let their hair down and have fun!
