Embrace your inner child, get covered in colour
Festival of Colour
Festival of Colour

Are you looking for something a little different to do with family or friends these school holidays? Then it's probably time to put on your oldest clothes and be covered in a rainbow of coloured powders at Barwon Park Mansion in Winchelsea.

The Festival of Colours is better known amongst Indians as the Festival of Holi. It's a traditional Spring festival in the Hindu culture and is celebrated by coming together with music, laughter and of course - lots and lots of colour.

Whatever you do, don't wear your best clothes and don't bring your expensive camera. Bring a cheap camera to take lots of photos, though, because they will look absolutely amazing.

This is a time to forget about the workplace, forget about being an adult and bring out your inner child as you make it your mission to see who can get covered in the most colours.

Winchelsea is located about an hour and half from Melbourne's CBD. If you'd like to view Barwon Park Mansion, plan to get there early, take a tour and then join in the colour festival.

There will also be music, jumping castles and lots of vegetarian food. One coloured powder comes with your entry ticket and extras are available for purchase.
