The Social Quarter at Chadstone opened in March 2023. It is inside Chadstone Shopping Centre but feels like its own space. The whole area has a lovely vibe with gardens along the paths and sculptures of unicorns and giraffes. The social quarter has something for everyone with mini golf, arcade games, escape rooms, bowling and lots of food options.

After a bit of retail therapy the girls (Miss 5 and Miss 7) and I decided to play 9 holes of mini golf during the school holiday.

There are two different nine-hole courses and we were allocated the red one. After being given a scorecard, pencil and tokens to choose our own ball, we chose a golf club and got started.

Our first hole was Simpsons themed, with a replica couch. This seemed popular with the adult crowd (for selfies of course) but meant nothing to the kids. Out of the nine holes, the girls found one quite scary (a really loud noise came from above us) and one they couldn't reach something that was necessary to play. Each of the nine holes are quite small and close to each other in a small space. It only took 20 minutes to complete the nine holes and the girls were keen to play the other nine as they felt it went too quickly.

It was a fun activity, but a very quick one for the money spent, and the children were left wanting to know what are we doing next. There are a lot of other things we could have done that would have been better value for money and time.

Overall it was fun, but 20 minutes isn't enough to satisfy the kids.
