Queen Victoria Markets is in its 140th year of a colourful history. The site has been a cemetery, livestock market and a wholesale fruit and vegetable market, each with an element of controversy. The markets officially opened on 20th March 1878 and remains the largest and most intact of all Melbourne's 19th-century markets. Apart from this festival, the markets are well known for shops and stalls catering for everyone's interest. It is a great tourist spot for visitors.
