Why not grab a bunch of your friends and unleash your inner child by holding an adult craft day. Now I'm not talking sewing patchwork quilts or knitting. I'm talking pasta shell photo frames, papier-mâché, tie-dying, plasticine, collages, making badges, finger painting – the kind of messy fun only primary school children usually get away with.
What you will need: As you will, by requisite, be making a lot of mess you will need a nice big space to work in such as the backyard. Once you've found you're location, make sure you lay down newspaper or plastic so as to minimise your clean up efforts afterwards.
Your craft materials will depends on which crafts you choose to do but you might want to include things such as poster paint, paintbrushes, scissors, craft glue, craft paper, felt, pom poms, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, crayons, textas, and plasticine. Maybe even set up a craft "kit" so you have all these things ready to go. Try and keep it low budget as that is part of the fun. Once you have all your materials ready, the next step is to start getting silly and messy.
Make the day even more fun by serving your guests an afternoon tea which will take them back to their kindergarten days. Put out an assortment of things such as fairy bread, peanut butter celery boats, cheese and vegemite sandwiches, and cordial.
Why not make the craft day a regular thing by sharing it around amongst your friends - i.e. you host a certain craft activity one weekend and your friend hosts another craft activity the next time. Remember, which ever activity you choose, make sure that you get paint all over your fingers, make a big mess and unleash your inner silliness.
After all, why should kids get to have all the fun?
