Hokkaido Ramen Santouka turns 9 this month! As part of its birthday bash, the renowned ramen restaurant chains celebrates with special dining deal and new menus.

All diners can enjoy 50% discount off its premium menu, Special Iberico Tokusan Toroniku Ramen, from September 18th to September 21st. Diners only need to pay for $11 per set now instead of the original price at $22 per set. The promotion is valid at both outlets at Clarke Quay Central and Cuppage Terrace.

Iberico Tokusen Toroniku Ramen


This Santouka's authentic dish is made up of a premium pork cheek (toroniku) and a bowl of springy noodles in a premium broth. The premium Iberico roasted pork cheek has a perfect balance of lean meat and fats that practically melts in the mouth of the diners. Only 200 to 300 grams can be obtained from each pig. The pearl-coloured pork bone broth (tonkutsu) itself is a result of 20 hours of simmering the bones before adding vegetables, dried fish, kelp, and other special ingredients. In total there are four flavors to choose from: Shio, Shoyu, Miso, and Kara Miso.

Two new dishes will be introduced to the diners from September 18th onward. These are Roast Beef Ae-Soba and Santouka Tantan Men which are sold respectively at $17 and $15 per serving.

Roast Beef Ae-Soba


Roast Beef Ae-Soba is light, refreshing yet delicious dish. Pour the house-made wasabi sauce into the plate and mix it with fresh green vegetables, poached egg (onsen tamago), roasted beef, and sesame. Good for sharing among the group when you have a gathering of a small party. It offers a balance of proteins, carbs, and greens.

Looks can be deceiving! Santouka Tantan Men isn't as spicy as its appearance. It's the colour of chilli oil (rayu) that disguises its real taste. In fact, it's mild and suitable for kids too. The bowl of noodles comes with rich flavours of sesame and miso minced pork in tonkotsu broth and garnished with spring onions besides salted vegetables.

The Singapore store has also crowned the winner of Ramen Revolution 2014, an annual ramen popularity competition joined by many Japanese brands as well as local brands. With its superb quality, the chain stays on the top of the game despite receiving competition from many newer local and international ramen shops in the local food scene.
