Last weekend I was privileged enough to have had an extra $40 in my wallet which allowed me to dine with my four best friends at Hog's Breath cafe in Watergardens.



I had never eaten in one of these restaurants before which is why I was so surprised by the exciting atmosphere. Hog's breath hosts an American beach themed dining area; ultimately made the waiting time for my meal more bearable. My attitude towards the long wait was relieved by the surprising quality of both the customer service and the meal itself. The real family styled environment and the American beach theme really sets a new precedent for dining in Australia; making it very difficult for other Australian and international food chains to keep up with the new and innovative dining experience.

The waitress that served my table was very attentive and constantly but subtly asked whether I needed another drink. On that note, I was thankful to realize that Hog's Breath is a fully licensed venue with a large array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

After a few drinks I was served my meal.

I highly recommend the steak drizzled in the white wine sauce with a side of vegetables consisting of mash potatoes, carrots and beans topped off with a mushroom sauce.

I must admit, the presentation of the food matched the sensational quality of the meal. Everything was cooked to perfection. My steak was medium rare and mildly pink. The meal was most definitely worth the $30 something dollars I paid for it.

Afterwards, I treated myself to a lovely desert of 5 perfectly proportioned profiteroles. Once again, Hog's Breath really shined in the area of quality and presentation. The five neatly placed profiteroles were all lined up on a desert plate with a side of ice cream.

After finishing up, I sat and took in the beautiful views of Watergarden's Station Street and enjoyed the entertaining atmosphere of the dining area.

I will definitely be going back to Hog's Breath café next weekend, and I'd highly recommend the restaurant to anyone looking to find high quality food in a relaxed family environment.
