Hogs Breath Cafe, Holden Hill

The Hog's Breath Café at Holden Hill is a novelty themed diner, which is decorated something like a cross between a pub and a shearing shed. It has wooden floors, tin lined walls, retro posters and even number plates attached to the wall. The tables are made from solid wood, and the old-style booths are comfortable to sit in.
Hog's Breath Café offers a $9.90 lunch menu. This includes a choice between Smoked BBQ Beef Wrap, The 3 Cheesy Amigos Hog Dog or The Boss Hog Dog, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Flathead & Fries, Chicken Guacamole Burger, and Steak & Wasabi Aioli Burger. All special meals are served with the Hog's Breath signature curly fries.
My favourite meal is fish and chips. The Hog's Breath version is flathead and fries, which comes served in a small pail and wrapped in a specially printed retro newspaper.
Standard main meals are much more expensive, with schnitzels starting at $23 and a 200g steak at $25.95. However, I believe the serves are large. Desserts are also somewhat expensive, with a sundae or chocolate mud-cake costing around $9.90. Drinks are around the average prices for licensed cafes and pubs. Children may eat free when accompanied by their parents on Mondays and Tuesdays.
The great thing is the novelty, which makes Hog's Breath a relaxing venue for a date, anniversary or special event. The location is also a bonus. There is a Hog's Breath in the city of course, and one down Glenelg; however, Holden Hill is convenient for the northern suburbs and even the Adelaide Hills.
