Start the day with a bargain brekkie and a happy wife
Another Sunday breakfast out and about. Do I feel guilty? Not at all! After having cooked breakfasts for thirty odd years Sunday without the food preparation and washing up is my favourite day of the week.

My latest discovery is the $5.00 Bacon and Eggs Sunday Breakfast available from Hogan's Hotel in Wellington Point. Wellington Point is in Brisbane's bayside and nestles against the beautiful Moreton Bay making it a great destination as a starting point if you are planning to play tourist for the day.

Hogan's Hotel, which has been run by the Hogan family over three generations and fifty plus years, also has a strong connection with the local community and finds the venue popular with young families, baby boomers, friends and even breakfast parties.

Located at 381 Main Road, Wellington Point, Hogan's is in the centre of the suburban shopping and cafe precinct, making street parking the way to go.

Of course, the trick is to remember that if the $5.00 breakfast was the draw card to getting you in the front door, stick to your guns and order the Bacon and Eggs. Do you think we did this? Of course not!

The Squeeze, also known as Snake Hips, just loved his Big Breakfast (for$17.00).

My Smashed Avocado on Sour Dough was more pulverised than smashed, though it was tasty ($8.00). More importantly, I was able to gloat about having enjoyed the healthier alternative.

The mug of coffee went down well, and it was very pleasant sitting overlooking the passing traffic. There is also seating outside at the back end of the premises and on a clear day there are glimpses of the bay over to North Stradbroke Island.

Breakfasts are Sundays only, commencing at 7:30am.

I have no plans to ever have Sunday breakfast at home again.
