(affectionately known as 'Sadrock') was decommissioned in 2007 but you still can see her glory near James Cook Park at Gladstone Coal Exporter Maritime Precinct East Shore. Gladstone is about 542km from Brisbane.



This ship is maintained by an amazing fleet of volunteers. She was built in Cairns and commissioned in 1984. She was based in Cairns and one of 13 Fremantle Class patrol boats that monitored the Australian coastline and intercepted many illegal fishing vessels, drug runs and illegal immigrant ships. She sailed with a company of 22 personnel for over 618,000 nautical miles in national and international water for 22 and a half years.



For many years post decommissioning, the sat in the Gladstone Bay rusting away. The maritime museum worked with the Australian Navy and Ports Corporation to move the ship to a permanent wet stand mooring.



Guided tours of can be arranged with Gladstone Maritime Museum. At only $15/adult, $40/family and $10 for pensioner (children under 5 free), you can witness the glory of this ship, interesting stories during her duty and how the sailors lived and worked on the ship. Overlooking the wharf and the bay at East Shore Gladstone, surely has a beautiful place to be retired.
