As much as we hate Mondays, we all look forward to Fridays. It's one of the best days of the week. It signals the end of a long work week and the pending arrival of the weekend. Two years ago, Hit 105 gave Brisbane yet another reason to smile wide every Friday. RnB Fridays!
What does RnB Friday mean? It means Beyoncé, Mary J Blige, Salt n Pepa, Drake, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, The Weekend, Sir Mixalot and Alica Keys baby! I could go on!
Rnb Fridays is back to back RnB music gold and what I like to call weekly salvation and compulsory car singalongs! Yes, I raise my hand and proudly confess that every Friday I listen to Hit105 and am compelled to go to the extreme - I rock a mic like a vandal... or my steering wheel which ever is closest.
Friday the 9th of June Hit 105 celebrated their 2nd birthday with a party to rock all parties. Held at The Met on Wickham St in Fortitude Valley. Stav, Abby, Matt and Osher showed Brisbane that they really do know how to throw a party.
The Met quickly filled with Brisbane listeners ready to celebrate another year of RNB on the airways by dancing the night away. It was as promised a massive night of RnB entertainment. There were drinks and canapes and even a pop-up hair salon to braid your hair - you know in case you weren't feeling gangster enough.
It rained balloons as the crowd threw their arms up in the air. There was even a rainfall of cash! It was like 24K magic in the air...
It was such a thrill to see everyone who called in and won tickets to this awesome event dress up in their best RnB wear. Shout out to the guy wearing the clock around his neck - I am sure Flavor Flav would be proud!
The station together with The Met provided a fantastic atmosphere for a night of celebration. There was even a special message from DJ Spinderella!
