Historical Walk to Newman's Nursery

On Sunday the 22nd of May 2022, you are invited to join the Friends of Anstey Hill Recreation Park for a guided walk to Newman's Nursery . Established in 1854, the nursery was once the largest in the southern hemisphere. The ruins are rather extensive and it would definitely be worth your while exploring this historic site. You will be well versed in its story by the end of the walk. Your knowledgeable guides will also point out the crusher, pipeline and water trough along the way.



The walk is free, however, bookings are required and can be made online via their Eventbrite website. With a continuously inclining track, you will need to have a moderate level of fitness to participate. Enclosed footwear is also recommended. Please meet at Gate 6 Perseverance Road at 9am on the day. Spots are limited, so do be quick to book if you're interested.
