To mark the 72nd anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Anti-nuclear Clean Energy (ACE) is holding a remembrance evening. The event will be held at the Friends of the Earth Food Co-op & Cafe on the 6th of August, the day in which Hiroshima was bombed.
As part of the remembrance evening, there will be a live presentation and/or interview with a Hibakusha (a person who was there on that fateful day and survived the bombing of Hiroshima). There will also be an origami peace crane workshop, where guests can learn to fold cranes like the ones Sadako Sasaki folded. There will also be an update on the progress of the new nuclear weapons ban treaty.
The event is free, and entry includes green tea. There are also sushi platters available for purchase at $10.
