The New York JFK Hilton New York - Queens is perfect for a beach holiday. Rockaway Beach, the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park are all within easy reach of the house.



The Hilton New York JFK is a big airport hotel, open 24 hours a day when travellers arrive or depart from a nearby JFK at all times. It is especially busy in the early morning and the main arrivals in the afternoon. The lobby has rather low ceilings but is nicely decorated with brown tile floors and wooden pillars. A lounge area with comfortable armchairs is located at the opposite end of the registration desk. The staff here are friendly enough, but with so many temporary guests on short stays. Most guests usually interact in the restaurant and bar, which are right next to the lobby. Despite its proximity to the airport and busy streets, the hotel is surprisingly quiet.

The Hilton is a five-minute drive or a free shuttle from John F. Kennedy International Airport. Several other hotels are nearby and residential buildings are located on the opposite side of the airport. Public transport to Times Square and other New York City attractions usually takes just over an hour. The journey times are about 40 minutes depending on traffic. For travellers who want to reach LaGuardia airport, it is about 20 minutes by car or taxi and 80 minutes by public transport. Killing travellers with time and spending money.



Rooms

Rooms are tastefully decorated in a simple style found in the Hilton hotel chains. Soft earth tones with light walls and light blue. The matching wood furniture has a nice amber surface, but some of the pieces we saw showed obvious signs of wear. The standard rooms offer plenty of space and the queen-size double rooms have desks and upholstered armchairs (King rooms have small sofas). Larger suites with sofa beds in separate living rooms are also available. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and safes. Wi-Fi is free for Hilton Honors members and it's free to sign up for the loyalty program.



Bathrooms vary depending on the room type: The King Room has a walk-in shower and the Queen Room has a shower/tub combination. Bathrooms are in average size, but they have excellent lighting, magnifying mirrors, and spacious. One floor of the hotel allows smoking in the rooms. Rooms are full of natural light that comes in through large windows. Many of them overlook the airport (especially on the higher floors).



Deals

The airport hotel offers functions that are mainly intended for short-term guests. There is a free 24-hour shuttle service to nearby John F. Kennedy International Airport. Parking is cheap and car rental is on site. Restaurant 144 serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a focus on American classics such as steaks, seafood and burgers. It also has a large sports bar. The 144 Express serves Starbucks coffee, pastries, salads and sandwiches. The souvenir shop also sells various snacks, souvenirs and trifles.



For training, the indoor saltwater pool offers enough space for swimming. The 24-hour fitness centre features several modern Precor cardio machines and free weights. The 6,334 square feet of event space includes a ballroom that can accommodate groups of up to 500 people. The 24-hour business centre has four computers and two printers and allows guests to print documents from their rooms remotely. Cleaning and laundry facilities are available for concierge service. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby for all guests. Many locals use the popular Stay, Park and Fly package to save money at the airport.
