Getting lost is the easiest way to have fun!

Hillarys Boat Harbour is a great place for tourists and families to relax, swim, shop and get a feel for Australian culture. The harbour also boasts an impressive range of top quality franchise and independent food and drink venues for all budgets and all times of day.

Breakfast

For the early risers, joggers, cyclists and morning crew Hillarys doesn't offer a diverse range, but has places to suit every budget.

Gloria Jeans and Dome cafe are popular spots for a morning catch up. Bacon and egg meals are always popular with a morning coffee at these franchises and GJs also offers $1 fruit toast with a drink.

If Buffet is more your style Jettys on the boardwalk offers a good range at a little over $20 for all-you-can-eat. Situated right over the inner marina, it's a great place to sit around and enjoy the morning light.

The Beach Shack is one of my favourites for brekky. This small independent cafe serves great food at cheap prices. The big breakfast is under $18 and full of quality ingredients, couple it with a fresh fruit juice and you'll be ready to go for the day with money in your pocket. There's a place for kids to play as well when you get tired of them. You can read more about this place here.

Lunch

Weekend lunch catch ups often involve lengthy debates about where to go. Luckily if you go to Hillarys everyone can have what they want.

For those on a tight budget Subway is an easy choice. If you're looking to treat yourself Carnival Ice serves a mean crepe with icecream that won't break the bank either.

Burger lovers have a choice. FAB next to the breakwater offers a semi formal setting to go with some very fine burgers. And you can draw on the tables, great for kids. Grill'd has also moved in with their huge range of 'foodie quality' burgers without the price tag to match.

There's a few independent diners too. Zing Cafe - tucked away in the corner - is great, and feels like it's away from the hustle and bustle of the main boardwalk. Zenos cafe is just as good for lunch or dinner, their seafood is great and the indoors setting gets you out of the rush.

Wok in a Box has also opened up next door, offering cheap Asian cuisine in a convenient takeaway box. If Sushi is more your thing there is actually an AE Sushi train right next to San Churros too.

Dinner
There's nothing quite like the idea of dinner over the marina. A lot of people have that idea though, so there's plenty of places to cater.

The ever popular fish and chips are present. Sharkys next to the beach is big, quick, cheap and decent - a great casual dinner spot indeed. Top Catch is locally renowned as the best fish and chip shop around. A little more pricey than Sharkys but you get what you pay for in quality.

Meat lovers can't go past Hippo Creek. The meals are a little pricey, but they're exceptional quality, cooked to your liking and big on size. You can read more on Hippo Creek here. I can't stress enough that this is a must do for fans of all things meat.

Pizza fans flock to Little Caesars in their droves for the huge range of exceptional and obscure pizza styles on the menu, there's a reason they're currently the best pizzeria in the world (they actually beat Italy and America in the world comp last year).

www.boulevardrestaurant.com.au
The Boulevard offers a wide variety of great Mediterranean dishes and constantly has well priced daily specials on. Spinnakers down near the lighthouse is away from the noise and serves everything you'd expect from a restaurant in a beautiful setting - this is a favourite for romantic dates.

The Breakwater is very expensive, and the servings are tiny - but what small amount you get is very good quality. The pizzas are their saving grace with some cool toppings at an okay price. You pay for the location, and it is a fantastic location to be honest.

Dessert
When it comes to treating yourself Hillarys more than has you covered. Forget about eating healthy, you won't be able to resist.
Enough reason to end any diet

San Churros has some of the best chocolate in Perth. Nothing beats a Hot and Cold (Hot Choc with Ice Cream in it) served with their famous churros. Or if you have a group, the fiesta platter covers every heavenly base.

Ice Cream is taken up another notch in the marina. The famous Cold Rock Ice-creamery may be expensive, but nothing can beat them for range (literally thousands of combos). Being able to choose what you want in your ice cream is a fantastic concept.

Bellisimo Gelato is (in my mind) the best ice cream in Perth. The exceptional quality ice cream is blended with some awesome flavours including Toblerone, Ferrer Rocher and Hazelnut Praline.

Carnival Ice is a good choice once again if you're on a budget with a range of basic ice cream and pancakes for low prices. Little Caesars dessert pizzas are surprisingly great too, the Eskimo Joe is to die for.

If you want something a little less guilty FroYo Frozen yoghurt is really cool. You choose your yoghurt flavours then add whatever you want into it, and you pay for however much you have (per kilo).

Drinks
The boardwalk has a decent choice of coffee, juice, smoothies and alcohol at hand.

The ever popular and feel-good Boost juice franchise is always busy. The well priced range of smoothies, juices and crushes will leave you energized and happy.

Cold Rock and Bellisimo do their own range of smoothies too, with their awesome ice cream selections of course. The Beach Shack has great juices to go with their meals and Domes crushers are full of flavour.

The Breakwater is way overpriced (literally the most expensive in Perth) but if you're willing to pay for it the class and views are astounding. The beer menu is no good, but they make up for that with a large and very decorated wine list to choose from.

Harbour Terrace is a better option if you're looking for a cheaper night. They have a decent range of beers including Matsos (Australias #1 craft brewery) beer. They have a lot of pool tables and well priced meals - the beer battered chips here are amazing.

And then there's the infamous Bar120 (Bar Fun Plenty for the fans). The north's answer to Clubba hosts regular big name DJs in a very intriguing atmosphere. Basically you go there to get drunk, and attempt to leave without getting on someone's nerves.

Visited Hillary's a couple of years ago for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was an awesome way to start my weekend. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Hippo Creek breakfasts are as good as you will find anywhere.

FAB is overpriced and reminds me very much of a very expensive Macas

To clarify the name "Hillarys Boat Harbour".

The reviews are mostly for restaurants & cafes at Sorrento Quay Boardwalk, one of several developments at the Harbour. Think of "Hillarys Boat Harbour" as a suburb and Sorrento Quay Boardwalk, AQUA, The Great Escape and Hillarys Harbour Resort as places within that suburb. This is much the same as Whitford City which is in the suburb of Hillarys.

Reviews of Hillarys Yacht Club, Spinnakers cafe, The Great Escape & Mia Cucina to name a few have been left out yet are popular dining destinations in the Harbour.

In our view the article would be best called "Food and Drink at Sorrento Quay Boardwalk". For details of restaurants and cafes at Sorrento Quay Boardwalk go to sqb.com.au . For Hillarys Boat Harbour go to hillarysboatharbour.com.au .

Thanks
