Hearty American fare and more
A Brunswick American diner, Highway 31, has something more American about it than the generous size of burgers and double-fudge mud cakes they warmly bring to your table. The casual restaurant, which has a gleaming Captain America bike on display, is a hub for motorcycle enthusiasts, namely Harley Davidson motorcycles.
In fact, this lively diner is located right in front of the Harley Davidson dealership on Sydney Road. Riders get together with beers in hand, while live bands perform. Every little thing about the decor alludes to the American highway and the olden days, making this hangout experience a nostalgic one.
Regardless of the friendly atmosphere, the food is great. Beef burger with a perfectly fried egg comes with crispy hot fries and a fresh side salad. While they specialise in Southern Cajun flavours, the simple traditional selection is satisfying. The extensive menu includes a variety of American entries, including milkshakes.
A surprising Indian dish, Lamb Korma with rice and roti, is an impressive choice as well. There is certainly more to this American cafe. Any visitor looking for a good time needs more than one visit to this special niche joint.
