This 900 metre boulevard runs off Kalinda Road.

It meanders, which adds to the enjoyment of this walk, as you can't see what is ahead and often a surprise awaits as you round a meander.

One flowering tree that stood out was the beautiful Crepe Myrtle. Many councils plant these as street trees and they certainly brighten up a neighbourhood.

I'm amazed at the number of varieties and colours of Oleander flowers, particularly as they range in size from small bushes to trees.

Despite their name, pigface, a popular succulent, have attractive flowers which contrast nicely with the green succulent leaves.

The only garden ornaments of interest seen were a group of red mushrooms which had seen better days. Garden ornaments are a special attraction of street walks as they are not visible from cars.

A trend with new gardens is to have just one or two larger plants set in isolation. One such plant was a nice looking Cycha palm.

Many gardens seem to feature one of the Aeonium genus, either individually or in groups.

A few walkers were noticed, surprisingly no one was walking their dog.

The only non-human life seen was a lone Noisy Miner hiding amongst foliage in a street tree.

Another bird, an imitation Flamingo, was jammed between the pickets of a fence. Another of the soft toys that adorn front fences and trees in many streets. They would be attractive to passing children.

Speaking of children, an unnamed small park and playground is a feature of Highland Boulevard.

Flowering bushes and shrubs outnumbered individual flowers in the form of a Plumbago and a Hebe bush.

Footpaths on both sides of this flat boulevard would make it easy for wheelchairs to navigate.
