This tavern is on the "main street" of High Wycombe, tucked in with the new Coles supermarket on Kalamunda Road. There is plenty of parking and I would suggest to book for dinner if you are planning on dining on the weekend.
Don't be put off by the "tavern" part of the name, this restaurant is separated from the pub side, with a divider running through the middle of the tavern. Inside the restaurant, you can get a table for two or if going in a group like we were, the staff kindly pushed two tables together to accommodate for our larger group. If you like the pub atmosphere, they have a beautiful outside area with big TV screens for all the sports fans. The umbrellas are equipped with heaters which would be perfect come winter time.
Now to the food, they have a massive wood fired pizza oven and serve 15 different gourmet pizzas, as well as a selection of pastas, steaks, burgers and traditional pub meals. I ordered the Chicken Carbonara with mushrooms and bacon in a creamy white wine sauce and was definitely not disappointed!
The wine and champagne list is very substantial and as it is a pub, there is no shortage of beers, spirits and soft drinks.
The only suggestion I have, skip the dessert! Our cakes were pretty bland and not very satisfying.
Definitely worth a visit, whether you are dining as a couple or a large group of friends for a casual night out.
