Recently I've been a little obsessed with high teas and have been going around trying the different high teas around Sydney. This is the first time that I've been to the QVB Tea Room for lunch. They were introducing the Oriental High Tea where there were a lot of savoury dishes which included duck and mini wontons. Sandwiches with crusts cut off and of course the sweets included macarons, chocolate mousse and fruit tarts.
I found that my Green Rose tea went quite well with the full flavored dishes of the day. The subtle sweetness of the rose taste came through the salty and sweet foods that didn't overwhelm the main dishes. Even though it was a Tuesday afternoon, the room was still busy and busing with business. The staff were very nice, courteous and perfectly served all the food and drinks. It was a wonderful afternoon of good food, good company and excellent service.
