What is "High Tea"? There's a rather long explanation here . It was an afternoon event for the English uppercrust, in earlier days, where the ladies, often in their almost finest clothing, ate late in the afternoon as their evening meal would not be until around 8 p.m. Afternoon tea was held sitting around in armchairs, but high tea was held sitting at the table, with fancy food, and glorious bone china cups and saucers, and far more formal. These days high tea can be in the morning or afternoon, but much of the same formality applies.

If you haven't experienced a high tea, perhaps this one is for you. You can sit on the deck looking out over Moreton Bay at the Surf Club Bribie Island and enjoy the High Tea Party on Thursday 26th May at 11 am. Bring your friends and partake of the great range of delicacies which will include mouth-watering morsels, delicate nibbles and a range of delicious teas.

Meet your friends and celebrate a birthday or other event – please reserve your table by phoning reception on (07) 3408 2141 – it's just $20.00 per person.

The high tea menu will feature finger sandwiches, home-made scones with jam and cream and light and fluffy lamingtons and dainty cupcakes.
