Taking the Searoads passenger and car ferry service between Queenscliff and Sorrento has long been a pleasant way to avoid the arduous drive around Port Phillip Bay. But now the agreeable ferry ride across The Heads has been made even more enjoyable with the return of High Tea on the High Seas for 2013.



For $35 per person an assortment of savoury and sweet items are served in the Portsea Room, with panoramic views across the front of the ferry. The Portsea Room is decked out in style for high tea service complete with crisp white tablecloths, two tiered platters and vases of flowers.



The selection can include dainty finger sandwiches, delicate slices of spinach quiche, toasted baguette topped with prawn and avocado, petite blueberry lamingtons, delicate glasses filled with citrus mouse, macaroons and scones with lashings of jam and cream.



This impressive spread is served with coffee, tea or for a little more indulgence a glass of local sparkling wine.

High Tea on the High Seas takes place on selected Sundays throughout the year departing from both Queenscliff and Sorrento. Bookings are essential.
