I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.
Have a get together with the girls and head to the English Tudor style hotelThe Hills Lodge. On Fridays and Saturdays, an elegant high tea is served at their in-house restaurant Nobles. For $49, you can dine on a delectable array of sweet and savoury treats accompanied by a piccolo of sparkling wine and a selection of teas. Soft drinks and coffee are also served and for an extra $20, the sparkling wine is replaced by a piccolo of Moët champagne.
The tables are dressed with white linen, flowers and beautiful fine china, we all had different china with matching teapots. The three tier stand was full of warm quiches, ribbon sandwiches, large scones and a selection of macaroons, mini cheesecakes, friands and mini tarts. The friendly staff treated everyone nicely whilst making a special fuss over 'The Bride To Be'. It was hard to decide on the flavour of tea as there was such a large variety of flavours in herbal as well as standard. The tables are well spaced and the atmosphere is relaxed but sophisticated. You are not rushed at all and have plenty of time to feel indulged and special.
Bookings are essential and are for a minimum of two people, high teas are not available on public holidays and in December, will only be provided on Saturdays. A gluten-free high tea can be organised with prior notice. There is plenty of parking in the hotel grounds and if you want a truly decadent day, book into the day spa.
