High Tea has grown in popularity over the years. It was once reserved for the upper class in England with cucumber sandwiches and tiny cakes served on fine china. Traditionally high tea was served late in the afternoon on a high table such as the dining table, in contrast to a low coffee table, hence the name. The high tea experience hasn't changed, however it is now an accessible experience for all to enjoy. It is particularly popular on Mothers Day, for baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and any type of celebration. Any get-together with friends is often all the excuse you need. With small sandwiches, petite cakes and miniature delicacies, high tea is a decadent and enjoyable way to spend quality time with friends and family. Here are locations around Canberra offering this English tradition with their own unique twist.
