All dressed up with nowhere to go? The Four Points Sheraton Hotel, in Mary Street, Brisbane City, is calling you.

On Saturdays and Sundays The Sazerac Bar, on Level 30, hosts a delicious High Tea that makes wearing makeup worth the effort. Indeed, this is a popular venue for Hen's Parties and Birthday teas, as well as weekend shoppers and tourists in need of respite after trawling Queen Street Mall.

To be honest, the glimpses of river and parkland aren't that great currently with a number of cranes blocking the view. However, 30 storeys up does offer a different perspective of our city, and I am not ashamed to admit that I was too squeamish to sit next to the floor-to-ceiling windows.

We were greeted with a sparkling wine upon seating which was a great way to relax and gather our bearings. When High Tea was delivered my companion and I was suitably impressed.

The Savoury morsels included:& #8232 ;
Smoked salmon and dill cream cheese roulade on wholemeal& #8232 ;Chicken and asparagus vol-au-vents& #8232 ;
Open Reuben sandwiches – fresh rye bread with pickled cabbage, corn beer,
Swiss cheese and cornichon& #8232 ;& #8232 ;

The Sweets were also very enticing with:& #8232 ;
Freshly-baked scones with strawberry and Champagne jam, and Chantilly cream& #8232 ;
Whiskey maple pecan tartlet with maple whip cream& #8232 ;
Macaroons& #8232 ;Opera cake – layers of almond sponge, coffee-scented buttercream and dark chocolate ganache& #8232 ;
Toasted coconut, passionfruit and lemon curd slice

A word about the macarons. Our samples included either a Lemon or Twinings Tea flavoured macaroon. Both were just delicious with the later displaying just the right hint of Bergamont.

High Tea at The Four Points Sheraton Hotel is a relaxing experience, made even more so by the ever helpful staff.

The Sheraton Hotel is located at 99 Mary Street, Brisbane, making it only minutes away from the Mall, and ten minutes walking distance from Central Railway Station.
