This July, the Queensland Parliament kitchen is looking forward to the return of their public dining events with an all-new Queensland menu!
Reopening to the public from July 29, guests are invited to enjoy 'High Tea for me' – a Covid Safe version of Parliament's famous High Tea, and lunch sittings in the Strangers' Dining Room, known as Sometimes Strangers'.
With almost all ingredients sourced locally throughout Queensland, Parliament House is the perfect destination for those looking to support Queensland businesses.
The first 'High Tea for me' is taking place on Wednesday, 29 July and will feature individual platters, rather than the usual shared towers.
The High Tea menu will also be a variation on the traditional, with delicacies including pumpkin scones, smoked chicken and Mt Tambourine truffle brie pinwheels and Caboolture berry custard tarts.
Sometimes Strangers' Lunch returns every Friday, from July 31, and will feature a new menu each month.
Executive Chef, Andrew McCrea, puts a contemporary twist on classic dishes including Hervey Bay scallops and cherry braised Goondiwindi pork cheek, Gympie veal wellington and chocolate rose petal custard donuts.
Due to ongoing social distancing measures, there are limited bookings available for all events so Queensland Parliament encourages guests to book early to avoid disappointment.
All events will follow strict social distancing guidelines and the Parliamentary COVID Safe Plan to ensure the safety of all guests.
