I am a lover of live comedy, engrossing films, scenic hikes, social enterprises, delicious food and unique experiences. I write about the many ways people can give back to causes they care about here:
Share the cupcakes, share the dignity
December can be a stressful time of year. There are presents to buy, lights to untangle and parties to attend. I recommend taking a moment and setting aside this one Sunday afternoon to enjoy a delicious high tea. No need to feel guilty either as it's all in support of women who are finding it tough, especially at Christmas time.

If you haven't heard of Share the Dignity yet, it's an organisation that was established in 2015 to provide sanitary items to women experiencing homelessness. It is a simple thing that we can often take for granted, but hygiene during your period is a basic necessity that can become a luxury when you need to decide between food, shelter or pads for the day.

This November sees the beginning of Share the Dignity's 'It's in the Bag' campaign, where you can provide a handbag filled with hygienic and beauty items for a woman in need. This event will act as a collection point.

This high tea event is on Sunday 11 December at Wattle Park Chalet. There will also be a special guest speaker who will tell her story of experiencing homelessness. Book your tickets early (before 1 December) and bring along some extra cash on the day to be in the chance to win some great prizes.
