Can you really go wrong in indulging in a high tea or a high cheese event? Held at the historic Rippon Lea Estate, 192 Hotham St, Elsternwick, and presented by Showtime Event Group , here's your chance to spoil yourself, whether you're into the decadent High Cheese or High Tea event. Both events run from 27 April to 7 June 2025. Before booking, do note that tickets are sold on a non-refundable basis. The High Cheese event is in conjunction with the High Tea afternoon tea bookings, for those of you who don't have a sweet tooth. You can switch out the cakes for a decadent three-tiered selection of Victorian cheeses, savoury bites, and scones. Better still, if there are two of you, you could probably choose one of each and share, to get the best of both sweet and cheesy. The cheese sessions are for 2 hours with staggered sitting times at 11am, 11.30am and 12pm. Whether you’re a connoisseur of fine dairy or simply looking for a unique and memorable outing, this event promises to tantalise your taste buds while offering a relaxing escape in one of the city’s most beautiful heritage settings. Aside from your cheese selection and savoury delights, there are dry-aged cheddar scones served with parmesan curd, fig chutney, and quince paste to finish, plus a couple of sweet treats like baked vanilla cheesecake, balsamic, strawberry compote and chocolate mascarpone cannoli, and orange praline.


Your High Tea Event includes an an array of delicious small bites, fluffy finger sandwiches, croque monsieur, hot savoury items, including the famous margherita arancini with basil aioli, sweet desserts, and homemade lemonade scones matched with caramelised pineapple and lemon myrtle curd, strawberry gum jam and vanilla cream. You can also enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling Mumm upon arrival, unlimited Tea Drop tea, and Allpress coffee in the grand Rippon Lea Estate Ballroom or by the Pool Terrace (weather dependent). A bar is available for those of you who'd like to continue with bubbles, wine or cocktails. Do note, they only accept EFTPOS.
