One girl and three men can only spell trouble
Villanova Players was formed in 1948, and has been producing plays and nurturing the theatrical talents of the people of Brisbane for over sixty years. Their final production for 2018 is High Society, which I was fortunate to catch last weekend.

Based on the play The Philadelphia Story by Philip Barry, and also on the motion picture High Society, this spectacle includes the music of Col Porter, an onstage band, some classy costumes, and a lot of fun.

I became a fan of High Society after watching the 1956 movie starring Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Grace Kelly many years ago. Even if you are unfamiliar with the movie, I have no doubt you will be aware of some of the tunes.

So what is High Society all about, you ask?

Spoilt rich girl, Tracy, is happily planning her second wedding, despite the well-meaning interference, assistance and attention from her family, her ex-husband, a reporter and a photographer from a tabloid magazine.

But things go from bad to worse and as her wedding day dawns, with Tracy finding she must now choose from three very different men.
