Heritage Days 2011 Event
Heritage is important for everyone. It reminds us of our past, how far we've come and our culture, making the earliest historic items most precious in terms of monetary and treasured value, dependent also upon the subject.
On the weekend of 12 – 13th November, 2011, Heritage Perth, a non-profit organisation, will be holding its third annual Heritage Perth Heritage Days major event, presenting history about the City of Perth dating back thousands of years.
With over 15,000 people taking part in HP's Heritage Days last year, this year plans to be bigger and better. Extra activities have been introduced, expanding on the previous 100 activities set in 32 localities around the City centre of Perth.
Streets, parks, buildings, museums, theatres, hotels, libraries and more will be open for all ages to view free. It's said to be an excellent chance to attend places that are not all normally accessible or available to the public. Take a walk and consider a part of our Australian heritage.
In commemoration of the influence and contribution these places, people and events have had in making Perth the remarkable city it has become, free activities, tours, performances, music, food and more can be participated in.
Executive Director of Heritage Perth, Richard Offen, previously commented on the webpage, "The event celebrates the fantastic heritage places of Perth in a way that is both informative and fun."
