Discover the History of Cambridge
The Cambridge Library has organised a range of free activities and competitions to celebrate the National Trusts 2014 Heritage Festival. These assorted events will be running right though until the end of May 2014.

Proudly brought to you by the Town of Cambridge, this event helps to promote the importance of local history in the area. Take an interesting guided history walk, or enter one of the fun competitions and you could be lucky enough to win a prize.

Time Trails Around Cambridge

Running on Wednesday 7th May, 2014, this guided walking tour takes in historical places of interest in the Wembley and West Leederville areas.

The guided walk begins at the West Leederville Train Station, at 10am, and will take approximately three hours to complete.

Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning 9383 8999 or by emailing library@cambridge.wa.gov.au.

Where in time in the Town of Cambridge is George?

George, the Cambridge Library mascot, is hidden somewhere in time. Search for George throughout history, by using photos and stories on the Town of Cambridge Historypin website.

This fun competition for kids is being held, running from Tuesday 1st April, 2014 until Saturday 31st May, 2014, to find George.

As part of the competition, take a photo of your favourite place in Cambridge and tell the library what you like about it.

You could win a $50.00 Dymocks book voucher. There are three different categories for this competition, 5 to 10 years of age, 11 to 15 years of age, and 16 years of age and over.

Journeys of Our Youth - Oral History Competition

This competition is open to people between the ages of 12 years and 25 years of age, and will run from Friday 4th April, 2014 until Saturday 31st May, 2014.

Record an interview or make a video about everyday activities in and around the Town of Cambridge. Entries will become part of the local studies collection for future generations to see.

There are three categories for this competition, 12 to 15 years of age, 16 to 20 years of age, and 21 to 25 years of age. There is a $50 Dymocks book voucher to win in each category.
