Thanks to the National Trust of Australia, green thumbs from right around Melbourne are being given an exclusive opportunity to taste and purchase rare heritage apple trees propagated from the treasured gardens at the Rippon Lea Estate. Take a tour around the orchard with an apple growing expert, sample the wares of the Flying Brick Cider Co, then take home your very own Heritage Apple Tree to plant in your garden and enjoy over and over.

Renowned for their variety and flavour, once you've tried Heritage Apples you won't go back to the supermarket again. Take an exclusive tour around the Rippon Lea orchard and learn everything you need to know about the 120 different varieties of apples and pears, along with how best to plant and nurture your new tree.

Pack a picnic and make a day out of your visit to Rippon Lea. While you're there sampling a selection of Heritage apples be sure and try the offerings from the Flying Brick Cider Co, who will also be onsite selling their award winning ciders and apple juice.

The is being held on Sunday 26th March 2017 from 10am to 4pm at the Rippon Lea Estate, 192 Hotham Street, Elsternwick. Entry is $15 for adults, $12 concession, $10 children or purchase a family ticket for $40. Gardeners will enjoy free entry with the purchase of an apple tree.
