There's a fast-roping koala in the cafe garden
Hahndorf is a historic German town only half an hour outside of Adelaide. Rich in history, with German inspired cafés, restaurants, and a variety of interesting stores, as well as being the home of Herbee's Garden Café.
From the very moment you step foot in the door, you know that you have found yourself in the most quintessential family café in all of historic Hahndorf.
The inside gives an older cottage-style feel about it - with a mixture of pink painted and floral wallpaper walls, and planter boxes on the windowsills - it's the ideal setting for the little princess in the family. However, it should be noted that if you are over 6 feet tall, you will most certainly need to duck under the doorways to avoid getting a headache as well being the laughing stock of your family and friends.
Once you have safely navigated the doorways, upon walking out the back into the garden, you will most likely agree that Herbee's has one of the best café gardens in all of Hahndorf. Even though it is of a smaller size, it packs a lot in without leaving the visitor feeling overwhelmed.
The owners have certainly gone out of their way to make the garden appealing to the young and the young at heart through designing it as a miniature magical wonderland - where smurfs and gnomes are co-inhabitants.
