This year looks like it will be the best one yet as it is going to be bigger and better than ever. It happens each March and this year, it will be on 16th and 17th March 2019. It will be held at 125 Quayle Road, Wandin, Victoria and the festival will include exhibits, stalls and of course, a chilli cook-off. The entry cost is from $27 and you can make your bookings here.
The great chilli cook-off
There will be both professional chefs and amateur cooks and the festival will share the most interesting and unique herbs and chillies available. They will also explain how you can grow, store and cook with each variety.
Many different types of chilli on sale
Some of the food will be foods from all over the world including South America, Greece, Senegal and Nepal. There will be freshly cut meats, handmade ice cream, locally sourced fruit and berries and so much more!
There will also be local beer or wine, juice, slushy, tea, coffee and in the spirit of the festival, there will even be a chilli-beer! Hmmmm...interesting!
Anyone for chilli beer?
You will be able to buy chillies and plants to take home and did you even know that there are more than twenty varieties of chilli available? There is also a vast selection of freshly grown herbs you can buy for your own cooking at home.
