It seems as though renting outfits is the 'in thing' at the moment, and I can understand why. An incredible increase of Australian dress hire sites are taking the online world by storm, seemingly becoming more popular over time. I recently rented a couple items for a weekend event from a new and established fashion business named Her Wardrobe, owned and operated by Alex Osmond.
This thriving fashionable hub is on the verge of great things, stocking some spectacular pieces that are flooding the fashion scene right now. I decided to order two outfits that have been trending on Instagram and social media pages. Not only can you rent an array of designer dresses, accessories, and millinery, but you can also purchase ex-rented pieces and beauty products like nail polish, and Hollywood tape - a must-have addition to any girl's wardrobe. I like that an honest caption of the condition of the ex-rented dresses are stated on the webpage to inform customers prior to purchasing; important when there is a no return or refund policy. You can browse the Sale section here.
I found their website relatively easy to navigate; a contemporary setup with sleek, simple, and nicely structured features, combined with a favourites banner highlighting popular items, reviews from customers, a connected Instagram feed, and a blog link. Additionally, if you're located in Victoria, Her Wardrobe have a studio based in Kensington, allowing customers to try on outfits by appointment; a reassuring feature for those who are a little worried about the fit of their item before a major event.
I ordered my two dresses before the weekend, and they were promptly delivered in a lovely box with a sweet handwritten card from the Her Wardrobe team "Hi Georgina, Give the girl the right dress and she can conquer the world". The dresses were carefully assembled between sheets of tissue paper, and a paid return parcel. I was in awe by the gorgeousness of the two dresses. They also fit quite well, although I'm fairly small, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to find a suitable outfit available in my size.
TheSelf-Portrait dress was by far my favourite. This designer label is becoming exceedingly popular in the fashion scene. It arrived in pristine condition, had no signs of damage, and evidently showcased Her Wardrobe's efforts to create a great customer experience through the maintenance and cleanliness of their outfits. This is important to many people when wearing an outfit that has also been worn by others, but rest assured, these striking pieces have been dry cleaned prior to being sent. Similarly, the second dress I hired was the Floral Lace Rouleau dress by leading Australian designer brand Nicholas.
Overall, Her Wardrobe deserves a mention, boasting a vibrant flair and passion for fashion, an impressive online presence, positive customer feedback, and a personal approach on Australia's latest trends, designer collections, seasonal pieces, outfit ideas and more. Alex puts together fashion inspiration posts on the blog, combining example pieces and what to wear features to reach out to visitors who are searching for an outfit idea or needing style advice for a special occasion or event.
