Adelaide Festival Centre presents 'Her Majesty's Theatre Closing Benefit' on Saturday 24th March 2018 at 7:30pm at Her Majesty's Theatre. The benefit will be a celebration to the rich history and talent that graced the stage. The $66 million redevelopment will begin in three weeks time. Her Majesty's Theatre on Grote Street, originally The Tivoli Theatre opened in 1913 and has been entertaining South Australians and tourists for over 100 years. It has seen hundreds celebrities grace its stage and had many famous productions brought to South Australia.

This finale performance will be a celebration of Her Majesty's Theatre which will look at the history behind the monument. Celebrities who have previously graced the stage will return to help raise money for a good cause. Hosted by Jane Doyle with storytelling by Peter Goers it will feature performances by Johanna Allen, Robyn Archer, Michaela Burger, Cameron Goodall, Nancye Hayes, Ali McGregor, Meow Meow, Rob Mills, Tim Rogers.

The benefit is hoping to raise $5 million toward paying for the redevelopment. Post this performance the theatre will close down for at least 15 months for renovations. It will reopen in 2020 with a face lift and the capacity to hold approximately 1,500 guests.
