Henley Square has been upgraded
Henley Square has undergone an $8.4 million redevelopment and is now ready to be enjoyed in the summer period. Make the time to visit and see how this iconic space has changed.

Henley Square's ample lawn area is a great place for family fun

With an abundance of coffee shops, bars and restaurants as well as easy access to the beach, jetty and lawn areas there is something for the whole family to enjoy.

The new redevelopment was completed in one stage. It has ample lawns for festivals and family fun.

The central water feature is a wonderful place to dip your toes and splash about. My kids just loved it!

The promenade areas and shaded zones are stunning

The new promenade areas and shaded zones are perfect for relaxing and watching the kids play on the lawned areas. Shady and well designed, they are a great place to enjoy a coffee from the surrounding coffee shops.

Henley jetty
The iconic Henley jetty

The jetty branches off of the square, on any given day you can find people enjoying it. Fishing is a popular pastime here; often you will find families wetting a line.

Boardwalk, Henley Square
The boardwalk leading to the jetty

The new boardwalk with its wave like seating is a great feature. The kids love to climb over this structure while adults simply use it to sit and enjoy the view.

One of my favourite parts of the new redevelopment to the square is this water sculpture. Washing the sand off after a swim is heaps of fun!

At night the new lights really bring the place alive!

One of the best aspects of this new development is the revamped car parking that has made access even easier. During the summer months, Henley Square is one of the top spots to visit in Adelaide.

It looks great and Henley Beach has always been a favourite spot for beachgoers going back to the 1940's when I was a child.I could not detect in the photos,if any trees have been planted in the square.Until I go and see it,it is hard for me to judge if trees are needed, but I do believe these would be both practical and enhance this area,if some could be planted there.

I agree with the comments of "noelp" , but the place looks a bit deserted without some trees. And a lot of the seating looks to be in broad daylight too, really great on a stinking hot Adelaide day!
