Curry in a hurry in Liverpool, NSW
An unassuming entrance on George Street, Liverpool leads us into the Hemani Mehmi Indian Restaurant, comprising traditional looking metallic hued Indian furniture.

They have an Indian food restaurant and sweet shop in Liverpool and a takeaway place in Blacktown. The menu was a big green file folder showcasing items from different regions across India, offering many vegan and vegetarian choices.

We went with Masala Dosa, a South Indian speciality consisting of a rice flour crepe with a spiced potato filling and Onion bhaji, an all time favourite onion-chickpea flour fritters.

The service was really quick given that the restaurant was occupied at one end by a large birthday party group and, quite a few tables were taken by other patrons. Our mains consisted of spiced potato Parathas, Vegetable Biryani and Gobi manchurian, an Indo-Chinese cuisine speciality of cauliflower fritters in a spicy sauce.

The dessert section had lots of options and our waitress informed us that we could go down the street to their sweet shop on 209, George Street, Liverpool for some take home Indian fudge and dessert.
