Helping Feet 2017

Whether you like to run, take a gentle stroll or just love to be surrounded by nature, then you need to check out this event. The money raised will go towards providing disadvantaged children in Iran, access to education.

Helping Feet 2017
Yarra Foundation, was founded by a group of young Iranian immigrants in Australia and are an incorporated association and registered charity foundation. Interestingly enough, they chose the name 'Yarra' because it's the name of the river which flows through Melbourne, but also because the Persian word 'Yara' means a mixture of kind, helpful and benevolent.

Iranian Bushwalkers was formed for Iranian residents in Victoria, to provide weekly day walks for those who enjoyed being in the outdoors and also like exercise. They also have other community events so be sure to check out their Facebook page for more details.

After a successful event in 2016, these two groups have combined once more to bring you an even bigger and better event in 2017, hoping to attract around 400 participants from all walks of life. This year their target is to raise $10,000.

Every dollar raised will be donated to help disadvantaged children in Iran. By giving them access to Education, they hope to break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty that face the vulnerable and disadvantaged children of Iran. Through their fundraising efforts, they are able to connect to orphanages, and centres caring for disabled children and even schools in the remote areas of the country.
