Each Christmas, we have a good choice of where to watch Carols by Candlelight. Now, however, you can listen to these carols in the day time instead of at night. The event is Carols by Daylight, and will be staged on the 2nd December, 2018, from 3.00 pm to 4.20 pm. This means that you will be able to bring younger children along and not worry about them being tired and cranky!
This will be the twelfth annual Hello Music Carols by Daylight and they will be held at the beautiful Deakin Edge Theatre, Federation Square, 1 Flinders Street, Melbourne.
Carols by Daylight is a fun-filled, singalong family event which anyone can attend and it will feature special guest artists: The Combined Australian Schools Orchestra, Santa Claus and of course, more!
The Hello Music Studios are a school and television production team, who have won awards for the "Best Children's TV Program" C31, numerous scholarships and awards to their students!
Hello Music is celebrating 28 years this year of teaching music to children through innovative music programs, community collaboration and "edu-tainment" events. They believe that everyone should have access to quality music education.
They conduct music classes in piano, violin, cello, clarinet, saxophone, flute, singing, and guitar. They also have a great children's orchestra and choir and do entertaining at concerts, innovative workshops, TV shows, have competitions and music tips for young musicians.
It will also be televised on Channel 31, so you could even get to see yourself on television, and be a star!
Tickets for this event will cost $35 for front row seats; $22 for general admission plus booking fee and children under 12 years of age are FREE.
This event is proudly supporting the Starlight Children's Foundation (Children's Hospital), which is a very worthy cause.
About Starlight Children's Foundation The mission of this foundation is to brighten the lives of all seriously ill and/or children that are in hospital as well as brightening the lives of their families.
Their hospital programs include Starlight Express Rooms, Starlight Fun Centres and Starlight Express Vans - these are all formed to deliver fun and entertainment to hospitalised children around the country.
Outside of the hospital situation, Starlight's Wish granting program helps bring about the wishes of children aged four to eighteen, as these children are suffering from a serious illness.
Starlight Escapes is the program that provides the children and their families with fun group outings and activities throughout the year.
The Guiding Principles form the basis for all Starlight relationships between the children and their families and their wonderful supporters and volunteers.
Starlight is totally funded in Australia and the funds are spent in Australia for the benefit of seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families. Starlight does not receive any government funding and is entirely reliant on donations received by individuals and corporations. These come about by holding special events, "cause-related marketing promotions", and in kind support of goods and services.
