Hellfire Club – Not for the faint-hearted.
This club meets 4th Friday of the month at Q Bar 44 Oxford St, Darlinghurst.
Well a visit to Hellfire starts way before the event.
Fetish, what to wear? Shopping, Oxford Street has the cream of the goods but be prepared to pay. Chinatown offers variety and you won't need to take such a deep breath before digging into your wallet. If you're not actually hell bent then you can even pick up a bargain dog collar or similar at your local bargain $2 shop.
So, leather, fishnets, high heels and just the 'right underwear' (maybe not so under) and we're set. Let's Hellfire.
Got dropped off outside the club and it was obvious we were in the right place. The dress/entry code is 'No Effort, No Entry' so peeps make an effort.
From the outside it looked like a fun place. Inside it got a little more serious. The coats and overlays came off and revealed a promiscuous and interesting bunch of fun seekers.
Age is no barrier in this group.
The atmosphere is openly warm as visitors walk around admiring outfits and commenting on what they fancy. The dance scene takes off quickly and it's obvious there are those who exhibit and those who watch. As the night passes, the two begin to mingle and the scene gets even more interesting.
It is a safe environment and is known as 'The Fetish Institution' now in its seventh year. The shows are insightful and ignite thought patterns you may well never have experienced before. As mentioned early in this review, not for the faint-hearted, but definitely worth the adventure if you're game.
