Solicitor/Barrister, Commissioner for Affidavits, Blogger, Media Maven, in no particular order

Taste is the highest agenda here
You know when you're hungry and you look at a menu and want a little bit of everything? Hellenic Republic is where you go and don't end up a) walking out wishing you ordered something different and b) wasting food because you ordered an entree and now can't finish your main meal.
I suspect this was high on the agenda of Master Chef judge George Calombaris in his concept for one of his restaurants, Hellenic Republic.
I've been to Hellenic Republic at Brunswick about 5 times now. Every time, I'm thoroughly impressed by their menu. What's so impressive you ask? The way that they take a simple classic dish like fries or gnocchi and put that magic Master-chef twist to it, is something worth dedicating a love song to.
We've all watched cooking shows and envied the judges that get to try all the amazing meals in front of them, and judge them at the same time. Well, at Hellenic, you can be judge, jury and executioner. Execute all the calories you want, and do it quick because the food is sure to disappear from the table sooner than you can say "Master Chef".
The other incredible thing about Hellenic is how fast their food is served from the time it's ordered. The freshness and quickness don't usually go together. I don't know what sorcery they use, but I'll sign up for it any day.
Slow roasted lamb shoulder
Now I don't have to tell you that a baby sheep probably doesn't lift, so its shoulder will not be a piece of iron on the plate - it will be the juiciest, most tender cut of meat you will ever eat.
This is definitely the place to go for group celebratory events, then you can literally try everything on the menu. The only thing I noticed on this occasion that I didn't like was that most of the dishes were too salty. I've eaten at Hellenic plenty of times in the past so it just might be the case that the chef was a little too trigger happy on that day. I've also ordered take away from Hellenic through UberEats, and I tell no lies when I say the food is just as good as if you were dining in.
From what I understand, each Hellenic Republic has its own twist, so next on the agenda is to go to a different Hellenic Republic and see what they have to offer. A girl simply must go to all three Melbourne locations. Anything short of this would be like a drowning man asking for a shower - it would make no sense.
You know I'll be back to tell you how the other locations were!
