The 14th annual Sculpture Walk will be held at Heathcote Cultural Precinct from Saturday, 19th March to Sunday, 3rd April 2016.This family-friendly event will see the Heathcote Cultural Precinct transform into an outdoor gallery for the City of Melville Sculpture Walk 2016.Over two weeks this Autumn, you and your family will be invited to view the beautiful display of 26 sculptures and installations, each passionately created by talented West Australian artists, Central TAFE students and local schools. The exhibition is curated by experienced Outdoor Exhibition Curator Lyn DiCiero.You are welcome to visit the exhibition at anytime of the day, 7 days a week - it is FREE to view. The 600m walk will also include other attractions such as heritage buildings, picturesque grounds and city views of Point Heathcote Reserve.You can also vote for your favourite sculpture in the People's Choice Award and go in the running to win one of four $50 BWG Steakhouse Vouchers.Catalogues and People's Choice Voting Forms will also be available on site from the Info Tent, Heathcote Gallery & Museum and the BWG Steakhouse.
To make the most of your visit, you can also participate in some fun interactive activities. Dubbed 'Amongst the Sculptures', this unique selection of activities are FREE to participate in (please note some may require registrations). Registration required (limited to 12 participants)Suitable For: Primary-school children (nine to thirteen years old)Description: Join multi-disciplined artist Nami Osaki and learn the art of paper plane origami combined with cool manga/anime drawing.[BREAK]Event: Sculpture Walk – Art Photography WorkshopDate: Saturday, 19 March 2016Time: 4.30pm – 6.30pmCost: Free to attend. Registrations required (limited to 30 participants)Description: Explore Sculpture Walk 2016 with your camera and experienced photographers from the Heathcote Camera Club. All skill levels are catered for and beginners are welcome. Please bring your own digital camera. There will be a Follow up Session to share your photos at Heathcote Artist Studios on Tuesday, 5 April from 7.00 – 9.00pm.[BREAK]Event: Heathcote Local History WalkDate: Tuesday, 22 March 2016Time: 6.00pm (For 6.15pm start) – 8.00pmCost: Free to attend. There will be plenty of opportunities to photograph original artworks along with amazing sunsets and river vistas.
