Friday 15 May 2020 from 8.30pm to 9pm is the date and time for the event hosted by Madman Films. This film is a three-time AACTA-nominee, and had its world premiere at the 2019 Sydney Film Festival. Hearts and Bones is a 2019 Australian drama filmed in the suburbs of Western Sydney and stars Hugo Weaving as acclaimed war photographer Daniel Fisher. Just back from his latest overseas assignment, Fisher gets a visit from Sebastian Amad (newcomer Andrew Luri) an immigrant from South Sudan who has tracked Fisher down.

He's concerned about Fisher's upcoming new book and exhibition as it'll include images from a massacre 15 years before in his South Sudanese town of Maridi, during which he lost his first wife, two sons and a daughter. He doesn't want Fisher to exhibit any photographs. Aside from it all having a deep effect on him, he wants to keep his previous life hidden from his current partner. What emerges is an unlikely friendship and a discovery that Sebastian's' daughter, thought dead, may still be alive.

Directed by Ben Lawrence, an Australian photographer and director of TV commercials and short films, this is a feature debut from the winner of last year's Sydney Film Festival documentary prize for Ghosthunter. Lawrence's father is Australian filmmaker, director Ray Lawrence whose list of films spans impressive titles like Bliss, Lantana and Jindabyne.
