If you are in Adelaide during the summer months you will be thrown into a whirlwind cultural mix of theatre, comedy, arts and sports. There are events and festivals going on every which way you look, with a range of options to choose from. Come the winter months and Adelaide seems to go into hibernation, and slow its pace a little. But fret not, Queensland is dishing out some of it's energy down to SA with a selection of films from Gympie's Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival 2015 (HOGISFF) which will be held again later this year.
The short film festival, which was founded almost 10 years ago in Queensland's regional town Gympie, has a focus on showcasing films with positive and uplifting themes. With a range of films from all over the world, this years selection includes SA's Closer Productions' 'I Want to Dance Better at Parties' directed by Matthew Bate and Gideon Obarzanek.

Adelaide's HOGISFF ambassador Michaela Banks says "I hope that this screening in Adelaide gives a taste of the atmosphere we've created in Gympie and will encourage South Australians to make the 'filmgrimage' to Gympie in October."
Running for its second year within Adelaide, you can catch a glimpse of the HOGISFF without having to make the trip to Queensland. A pop-up cinema will inhabit the Warehouse Space at Producers Hotel on Thursday 23 June at 6pm. During the 2 hours, you'll get 9 films and a free drink on arrival.
