I love Melbourne and keeping my finger on the pulse of this great city. Known as the Woodpecker to my friends. Don't ask why :-)
Community Based Market with Heart
Formerly known as D.J's Market. Heart n Soul Market relaunches on October 7th 10:30-2:30 at the same venue as before, Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House, 21a Bemersyde Drive, Berwick.
The reason for the name change is simple. People often thought it was a market for disc jockeys. That and the fact it was named in memory of the organiser's mother, the late Dawn Jackson.
Although running D.J's was almost therapeutic for Sharyn after the loss of her mother and very best friend, it is coming up to 5 years since she passed away and Sharyn felt it was time to let go of the D.J's name.
However, Sharyn will still continue to donate to charities in memory of her wonderful mother. To date, over $1000 has gone to the Melanoma Institute Australia and over $1000 to the Olivia NewtonJohn Wellness Centre.
Heart n Soul is a small, unique boutique type market that aims for a friendly warm atmosphere. It's important to note this is not your average market. They cater to children as they always have and in the main part, it's simply a name change.
Some of the regulars include Cake Revolution with the best cupcakes, Malteser slice, lemon slice and passionfruit yoyos you will find anywhere according to market organiser Sharyn. The tarot card reader from Salli's Tarot has nothing but positive feedback from her clients and Cassie from Cassie's Concoctions is always reinventing her stall with her amazing salts and aromatherapy.
Phoenix Trading with Narelle offers cards and stationery and The Clothes Exchange has an amazing assortment of clothes in near new or in great condition to buy for a steal! Robyn's Nest has a little bit of this and a little bit of that, plus there are many more stalls to look forward to on the day.
So come down and show your support to this small but friendly community market. Currently, they are seeking any scout or guide groups who may like to fundraise. To get involved, contact Sharyn on 0400895840 or email email@example.com
