Since I moved to Australia I have been really impressed to see that there is barely any litter on beaches. Just before coming to Australia I lived in a country where litter was almost second nature and the impact on the environment was palpable. So Australia seems very forward thinking on this - however there is still a big problem even here and it affects the environment in ways that sometimes we may not fully appreciate.

If you want to have a better understanding of the dangers of littering, if you want to be able to make a difference and if you are free on the evening of the 24th of June 2014 at 7.30 go along to the Queensland Wildlife Preservation Society and hear it from the experts. Healthy Waterways will present an evening where they demonstrate how we can all help prevent plastic from entering our waterways.

This is a free public lecture. No need to book. There is a presentation followed by supper. Join the Brisbane Branch of Wildlife Queensland at the Royal Geographical Society of Queensland.
