Give yourself time to chew
On a Saturday late morning trying to find a comfy place to stop for a coffee and actually be able to hear your friend is no mean feat, plus places seem to be getting smaller.
Fortunately we stumbled onto Healthy Planet on the corner of St Georges Road and Scotchmer Street.
We had a spacious table to ourselves with a view out onto the street for lazy people watching. I was delighted to see that their breakfast dish Eggs Your Way was accompanied with grilled tomato, pan tossed mushroom and sourdough toast for $14.50. This meal was substantial and I washed it down with a comforting cappuccino.
My friend when for the Besan Omelette Stack which is filled with tofu, mushrooms, vegan mayo with seared tomatoes for $13.95. Usually I'm not sure how taste friendly tofu and omelettes are but in this case it was yummy and my friend would only let me try a bit so the whole dish obviously pushed the right buttons. She enjoyed a short black that kept her buzzing all the way back to the car.
The food's good, it's not super crowded, you can people watch – what's not to like.
