Join Professor of Geriatric Medicine Leon Flicker at this FREE Event as he explores the essential features of healthy ageing.
Professor Leon Flicker MB BS NSW, PhD GradDipEpid Melb, FRACP, AO is a leading expert in geriatric medicine. He is a specialist at Royal Perth Hospital and the Director of The University of Western Australia's Western Australian Centre for Health & Ageing (WACHA).
Professor Flicker's research within UWA's Medical School – where he has been the inaugural Professor of Geriatric Medicine since 1998 – focuses on the major health issues of older people, including general heath, falls, depression and cognitive impairment.
Professor Flicker is a key opinion leader in health and ageing and has conducted numerous studies about frailty and successful ageing. He has also researched the health needs of older Indigenous Australians.
In 2017, Professor Flicker was honoured to become an Officer of an Order of Australia for his contributions to geriatric medicine and dementia prevention and care.
He leads a productive research centre that explores cutting-edge translational issues surrounding the health requirements of older people.
